Winning Sperm Party are a label/promoter based in Glasgow. We played a gig for them earlier in the year and their lovely guys, and have some really great stuff on their label like Eternal Fags and Ultimate Thrush. Just saw they’ve released a sweet little compilation that is available for free download here:

Particularly great track from the aforementioned Ultimate Thrush, a song called “Ladyfingers” which, other than being a light and sweet sponge cake, is the tune they opened their set with the one time I saw them.

Another highlight is the contribution from Streets of Rage, who my pal Patrick has been banging on to me about. Its hardcore but with a really clean guitar sound. Interesting.

Bought this at a show in Nottingham:

10” EP, four tracks, three short ones and one long one. Just guitar and drums a la Illness. Has a really cool vibe and is out on the Mesters record label, based in Notts. Get it here:

A week ago Spencer Illness and his house mate Chris put on a gig at Brighton’s Cowley Club. It was a hoot! Check out their promotion thing:

They had a load of help from the other half of Illness, Emilio, who went behind the bar, and from Mark, who filmed the whole bloody thing. Other people helped cover the door and with the bar so thanks there too. Biggest thanks to the three great great bands.
