HOW-TO GUIDE TO CLAIM PRS MONEY (COURTESY OF EMILIO)
(Click on the title of this post to go to the document)
Emilio has done all of us a massive service by writing an idiot proof guide for dummies about how to claim money from the Performing Rights Society (PRS) for live performances you do. Maybe you know all of this already but I know I was playing in bands for around 6/7 years before I ever even heard about this stuff, and unless you did a popular music course at uni where they initiate you into all this guff nobody is exactly falling over themselves to tell you about it. They’d rather you just never knew about it so they didn’t have to pay you.
Well screw them, claim what is rightfully yours guys! If you don’t pricks like Bono will claim it for you!
NEW BLOG!
Everyone who reads this if anyone does please turn your sights to——————>
The new blog I’ll be doing, very much exactly the same except without boring tour photos since I wont be going on tour in the foreseeable future. It’s tied in with the promotion thing that my housemate Chris and I have been doing. Rad!
We’re broken up!
Illness is no more. There are no more shows, no records left, we never really had any t-shirts so no worries there. Thanks to everyone who came to one of our last shows, or any of them really. Thanks to P for Persia, Dan Amos, Nitkowski, Lillith Lane and November Fleet for sharing stages with us at those shows, and big thanks to Alex Persia and Sarah Deaf for their promotional works. Muchos biggest thanks to extra special Depakine Chrono friends! Hopefully you’ll get back to Czech eventually! This blog is officially now defunct, one or both of us might start up a new one at some point so we’ll post here when we do, Emilio is planning a super long post at some point, that we’ll put here, detailing the process for claiming PRS live music money for any of you that don’t know how, since it is super useful information. Anyway, au revoir!!!!
One final music recommendation: the new Dan Pederson album , it’s absolutely ace and very different to the last one. Give it a go!
Oh and here and here you can listen to, respectively, the Shield Your Eyes and That Fucking Tank tracks off a recent four-way split 10”. They’re well good!
BYE!
DAN AMOS…
Is the super special guest at our gig on Friday. A very rare live performance from the mysterious singer-songwriter from Kent. Have no idea what to expect. Sure to be rad.
Sorry
About the lack of blog posts I’ve been lazy and haven’t really listened to much music for whatever reason. I did go and see the excellent Sweet Williams last week and would implore you to check out their recordings here.
Stuff this week - Negative Pegasus are playing on Thursday at the Green Door Store, and the gig we are putting on starring Cleckhuddersfax is this Sunday at The Cowley Club. Come on down!
Shame! But hey!
Sadly Shield Your Eyes can’t play at our last ever gig, which is a bit of a shame, but fortunately Nitkowski are playing instead, and they are rad! So it’s swings and roundabouts and shit
Listen to and download our last ever recordings of all new shit here
Get all our stuff!
Hey, Emilio has done a massive archiving project in light of our soon to be RIP status. You can listen to pretty much everything we ever recorded at our bandcamp page here, and download it all for free. So you can get our first two demos from back when we whored ourselves out to any promoter that would have us, the 12 track super bonus edition of our first self-released EP, the song off our split with Fat Bicth, and (extra special news), our soon to be released final Cdr.
Marvel in the evolution of Emilio’s hand-writing, gaze at a portrait of our old housemate Gale, just rock out! Woo!
Good gig next week. Tom from Charlottefield’s newish band Sweet Williams (blog soon), and the great Headquarters. And for free. At the Gladstone. Very much looking forward to this gig.
